Disappointing Service, Better Options Available
I used to like this place, but my recent experience was disappointing. When I asked if they sold puto, a Filipino steamed rice cake, an old lady just laughed in my face. There are plenty of other Filipino restaurants that have respectful employees and better food.
I recommend saving yourself a trip and checking out Irma’s, Chibog, or Isla instead.

Hearty Flavors in a Tiny Gem
This is one of those deceivingly small places, but it packs a lot of big bold flavors and hearty meals. It is a highly efficient mom-n-pop restaurant, with an open kitchen and a food-prep operation in plain sight. Often you'd see fresh dishes poured right into the food warmers directly from the stoves.
And with everything out in the open, you have the sense that everything is honest, as simple as a home kitchen. And in spite of their tiny operation, the selection is ample on any given day in this turo-turo style, so much to pick from, and it seems as if point at anything, even from their shelves, everything is for sale. These folks are hard working, kind people who try to send you off with as much food they can pack into to-go overflowing plastic containers.
They are earnest at what they do. This is a fine example of a small business with big dreams.

Cash Only, No Dine-In - What Is This Place?
My experience at this restaurant was quite surprising. It operates on a cash only basis and does not offer dine-in options. I'm unsure what kind of restaurant this is, but I cannot recommend eating here.

Mixed Feelings About Filipino Hole-in-the-Wall
I visited this hole-in-the-wall Filipino restaurant because of its high rating. The food offered decent Filipino flavors, including pork adobo, sweet spaghetti, sinigang, kawali, and lumpia. However, a significant downside was that all the dishes were cold; they were stored in a Bain Marie heating rack, which seemed to be not working at the time.
The service was quick, but the customer service could be improved. Regarding the atmosphere, there were no tables and chairs for customers, as depicted in the restaurant's images. It needs more TLC to attract more customers.
A crucial note for the establishment: please stop cleaning the Bain Marie food rack with soap and water while other food is next to it, and ensure the food is kept heated to avoid spoilage or bacteria.

Authentic Filipino Gem in Outer Mission
This is an incredibly authentic Filipino hole-in-the-wall restaurant that offers a wide variety of ready-to-go stews and crispy fried specialties, like whole fish. The lunch platters are very reasonably priced and generously portioned, allowing a choice of carbohydrate and two entrees. Highlights include the chicken or pork adobo, ginataang kalabasa (pumpkin coconut milk curry with fresh veg and seafood), and the lumpia, which are rolled fresh on-site by the house matriarch.
While the glass-noodle pancit is tasty, it's more of a personal preference. It's an excellent option for Filipino food in the Outer Mission/Excelsior area, with a very strong, no-frills, friendly vibe from the islands.

Delicious Palabok and Lumpia!
My experience here was fantastic! I couldn't wait to eat the palabok, I ate it before I could even take a picture. Their lumpia is also so good, and it's a great deal at 3 for $1!
Just a heads-up, it's cash and take out only.

Best Filipino Food & Friendly Staff
My experience at this restaurant was fantastic! I found it to be the best Filipino food in the Bay Area. The staff is extremely friendly, and my grandkids felt special when they were given a free lumpia.
The food portions are big, with enough food in one serving to save for the next day. The overall experience was a 5/5 for food, service, and atmosphere.
