The Excelsior//Balboa Park needs to chill on the delis; it’s so hard to pick which spot to hit when I’m in the area craving a sandwich. This new addition didn’t miss. It's a perfect little sandwich shop. The service is friendly and helpful, even remembering my name as I was heading out the door (huge points for attention to details). I ordered the Italian on Dutch, and the sandwich was fresh and well balanced. Perfect bites every bite.

I finally had the chance to try this place out. Upon arrival, I was greeted by their very welcoming, well-trained, and understanding staff. Their menu is simple, consisting of specialty subs, salads, and a build-your-own sandwich option. Everything is made to order, which is always a plus, and I never mind the wait since I am a patient person. You can have your sandwich as is or toasted. When I first arrived, it was empty, but as time passed, the place filled up. From the staff to the sandwich and atmosphere, it was a great experience. I highly recommend this place to all sandwich enthusiasts, those on a limited time, or anyone looking to try something new. I will definitely be back to try the other delicious options they have to offer.

I came here expecting it to still be Deli World, as Mrs. Kim had mentioned retiring for years. I'm glad I visited before moving away, as it's now under new management and I'm happy I did. The subs were fresh, tasty, fat, and great priced for the amount you get. I would highly recommend. This place still has that old-school vibe from Deli World, including the chairs, which feels like a homage to a great business. I wish this place the best of luck 👏.
