Nostalgia Lost: Top's BBQ Disappoints
Returning to San Francisco in search of nostalgia, I revisited Top's, a place I frequented in the past. I was surprised to find that sit-down dining is no longer available, and the menu is now limited to BBQ with only cabbage as a vegetable option. Since I was already there and heading to a friend's for lunch, I decided to get some BBQ.
I ordered duck, char siu, and roast pork. Everything was just okay, no longer spectacular. The char siu had an off fat-to-lean ratio, being too lean, which made the meat dry.
The duck has lost its crispy skin, and the meat isn't as flavorful. The roast pork, however, was good with a nice crispy skin. Overall, I would not come back, as there are better options in the city.

Best Roast Duck & Rice in SF!
My experience at Top's Cafe has been consistently great. I've been a patron for ages! Previously, it was a full-service restaurant, but now it operates with a deli-like service, still serving the community.
The best roast duck & rice plate in SF for $11 is a must-try. Come and enjoy the flavors; you won't be disappointed.

Fresh and Delicious To-Go BBQ
My experience at this restaurant was great for picking up lunch and dinner to go. I particularly enjoyed the BBQ pork, roast duck, and roast pork. The food is fresh and made to order as they sell it.

Unprofessional Service and Unsanitary Conditions
My experience at this restaurant was quite negative. My father visited twice, and on both occasions, a worker refused to sell him a specific duck. The employee was yelling at my father, who eventually got what he wanted but returned home in a bad mood.
This lack of professionalism was concerning. Furthermore, the establishment appears very unsanitary; they don't use gloves and handle money before touching food 😂. If you're looking to feel disrespected and disgusted, this is the place to come.

Great Chinese BBQ Take-Out
My experience at this restaurant was for take-out as indoor dining is not available. There's usually a line for their BBQ take-out items. At 7 pm, they were unfortunately out of BBQ pork, so I had to resort to their BBQ duck w/rice for $10.
The BBQ items themselves were spot on, with good flavors and enough moisture, not dry. It's great to see that customers from the old defunct Wing Hing are now coming here. I didn't see a line at the former Wing Hing location, Ming Hing.
Overall, this is a good Chinese BBQ take-out restaurant for the San Bruno Ave. Neighborhood.

Overpriced Chinese BBQ, Used to Be Great
I used to consider this a 5-star place for Chinese BBQ, and it was the best in the area. However, with the recent overpriced food, such as $24 for steamed chicken, I can no longer support them.

Discrimination and Old Meat Served
My experience at this restaurant was very negative. The worker served me old meat that seemed to be from under the table. I felt he discriminated against me and assumed I wouldn't notice.
When I confronted him, he claimed he thought I wanted it lean, but the portion was clearly not lean. Due to this experience, I will not be returning.

Cheated on Roasted Duck Order
I purchased a roasted duck for takeout dinner, but unfortunately, I did not receive the entire duck. I was told that I was cheated because I’m not Asian. This experience was very disappointing.

Best Duck Ever!
My experience at this restaurant was exceptional, especially regarding the food. The duck was hands down the best duck ever, and I consider myself an expert on duck, having enjoyed it as an entree, appetizer, and even dessert. The personal one-on-one service was also a highlight, and watching the machete mastery was impressive.
I visited twice within 24 hours and am very pleased with my visits. The beautiful weather in Portola complemented the beautiful residents and their great plates and palates. I will definitely be catering in food from this establishment.

Amazing Cheep Meats at a Hole in the Wall
This place is kinda a hole in the wall, but it's amazing. It's one of my favorite places to cheat on my diet and get some awesome meats. I can't believe how cheep they are; it's easier, quick, and supper affordable.
