How are the prices at Zoe's Place?

You’re looking at roughly 16 per person – reported by 8 diners. That puts it in the $11–$20 category. For a Mexican Restaurant, it’s comfortably mid-range: not a steal, but not bank-breaking either.

Looking at the full picture, while many guests spend in the 1 – 20 $ range, there are also a few who opt for pricier options, stretching up to $41–$50. Just a heads-up, this is based on 8 reviews, so while it gives us a good idea, it’s still a relatively small sample.

Here’s a quick look at what guests spend per person, based on the latest 8 reviews. Keep in mind, with a smaller sample, it’s a good indication but not the full story.

See how this restaurant’s value for money stacks up against similar spots in San Diego.

Overall, we think the pricing here feels pretty fair for a Mexican spot, especially in San Diego. Its a good option if youre looking for quality without breaking the bank.

Disappointing Tacos, Overpriced
My experience at this restaurant was quite disappointing, particularly regarding the tacos. I ordered the shrimp tacos, which turned out to be a significant mistake. The menu stated $10, and we assumed it was for two tacos, but it was only for one. Consequently, we were surprised to pay $25 (including tip) for just two tacos and a small portion of tortilla chips. The tacos themselves were very small, almost like 'taquitos' rather than traditional tacos. They resembled a salad with a lot of greens, topped with unseasoned, likely steamed shrimp, and a sauce applied only to half of the taco. The only redeeming quality was the generous amount of shrimp per taco, about 4-5 pieces. However, at $10 per taco, I expected a much higher effort and quality. This was a sad showing, and I hope the business takes this feedback to improve, as this practice doesn't seem sustainable.

Great Chips & Salsa, Okay Burrito
I visited AleSmith in Miramar and had a steak burrito. The chips and salsa were some of the best I’ve ever had, period! They had the perfect spice and were perfectly crisp. The burrito itself was huge, and the guacamole was tasty. However, the steak itself was pretty bland and very oily. All in all, it was a fine burrito, just not amazing. The prices weren’t too bad considering the portion size.

Disappointing Chicken Taco Experience
For $10, I expected the chicken taco to be delicious. Instead, it was like a grilled chicken salad with hardly any dressing, served in a tortilla. It was dry and flavorless, making it the worst taco I’ve ever had. It was also piled so high with lettuce that it was impossible to eat. I suppose it might be good if you were looking for something very healthy. Perhaps charging $5 and using fewer ingredients would allow it to be eaten like a taco, and adding a sauce would improve it.

Long wait, no drinks, disappointing lunch
My experience at this restaurant was disappointing. I waited a half hour for a panini, which meant I couldn’t even enjoy my lunch. To make matters worse, they had no drinks for sale and didn't seem to consider this an issue. I do not recommend this place.
