Disappointing Service for Roast Duck
I traveled from out of state specifically for your roast duck. I made a reservation two days in advance and confirmed it two hours before my arrival on the day itself. Despite this, the duck was served forty minutes later than the agreed time, by which point my child was almost full. Later, when we were about to leave, my child still wanted to eat it again, so I placed another pre-order. I even deliberately arrived a little later this time, but when I asked one of your staff about the status of our order, she responded with a casual and dismissive "I don’t know"—an attitude I found completely unacceptable. Do you think yours is the only place in San Diego that serves roast duck? Is customer service not part of your business? Or do you only treat customers who speak the same language as you this way? Regardless, I was deeply disappointed by the service attitude.

Terrible Wait Time, Poor Communication
My experience was terrible. After ordering, we waited a full 30 minutes and not a single dish was served. When I finally asked the server, I was told there were still 3 tables ahead and we would need to wait another 30 minutes. The most unacceptable part was that no one informed us about the long wait when we placed our order. If we hadn't proactively asked, would we have just been left sitting there? If the kitchen is busy or understaffed, please inform customers at the time of ordering. Don't waste our time.

Unprofessional Service and Extreme Wait
My recent visit to this restaurant was truly unacceptable. Upon arrival, with only four tables occupied, we were seated as the fifth. Crucially, the staff failed to inform us about potential chef unavailability or significant kitchen delays, simply letting us wait. After a shocking 40 minutes, not a single dish, not even a cold appetizer, was served. When I inquired about the delay, the waiter stated three tables were still ahead of us, indicating a massive capacity issue that should have been communicated immediately. The situation worsened with the waiter's extremely poor attitude. When I expressed frustration after nearly an hour of waiting, he dismissively told me I'd wait "almost another hour. " Upon pointing out the unprofessionalism and wasted time, his final response was: "If you don't want to eat, just leave. I'll cancel your order for you. " This level of unprofessionalism, lack of communication, and rude customer service is appalling. Restaurants unable to handle volume should inform guests upfront or stop taking orders, not waste time and show contempt. Do not recommend.

Mixed Feelings on Guobaorou and Chicken
It’s been ages since I last visited this restaurant! A friend raved about their Sweet and Sour Pork Ribs (Guobaorou), so I came back with some friends. The portion of Guobaorou is generous, and it’s truly delicious—crispy and flavorful. We also ordered Jellyfish with Vinegar Dressing. The jellyfish here is quite thick and chunky, not the smooth, silky kind I’m used to, so I wouldn’t recommend it. Then there’s the Braised Local Chicken in Iron Pot. The picture looked super tempting, so I specifically asked if it came with the steamed rolls (huajuan) shown in the photo. The waiter told me they only have steamed buns (mantou) instead. When it arrived, turns out they’re machine-made frozen buns bought from the supermarket. This dish is a letdown, so I don’t suggest it either. On the bright side, the Sizzling Pork Kidneys were pretty good! We also wanted to order Peking Duck, but it requires advance reservation—make sure to call ahead if you want to try it.
