Fantastic Tofu and Curry!
My initial expectations were low due to the minimal look of the restaurant, but the experience was pretty fantastic! I enjoyed the tofu, while my dining companion had a natto chicken curry. Both dishes featured a super savory broth and high quality veggies, tofu, and meat, all presented with care. The restaurant offers a wide range of spiciness options. The side salad was also carefully constructed, including pickled onions and a really tasty dressing.

Interesting Flavors, Needs Ventilation
Glad to find new restaurants offering food that doesn’t really exist in Seattle. We ordered beef brisket curry and the beef vindaloo. Two things to comment on: 1. Food is ok. My favorite thing is the rice. Very good quality rice - fluffy, sticky and chewy. Katsu is 7. 5/10 - good thickness and juicy, although the meat could be processed better to get rid of the pork smell. The curry itself lacks some cohesiveness; you will taste each ingredient in there with its own taste… potatoes taste like potato, carrots taste like carrots, beef tastes like beef. I’d guess they were cooked separately and assembled in the soup curry before serving. I don’t know what an authentic bowl should taste like, but I expect things to taste more like the base curry. The beef vindaloo with spice level 1 full sent my bf. Wayyyy too spicy. Spicier than my level 6 soup curry. 2. The air inside the restaurant is what killed us. We could barely keep our eyes open cuz of how smoky and spicy the air was. Please improve the ventilation! Overall, love to see a new flavor addition to Seattle, but lots of room for improvement!

Lovely Ravenna Eatery
My experience at this restaurant was delightful. It's a fun and yummy spot located in lovely Ravenna. I'd recommend taking a stroll, stopping by, and shopping at the small local shops and eateries. The restaurant is big kid friendly, with a price range of $20–30 per person. For vegetarians, it's highly recommended as they have clearly labeled vegetarian dishes. The atmosphere, service, and food all received a perfect 5/5 rating. We enjoyed it for lunch.

Interesting Soup Curry, Pricey
My experience at the restaurant was interesting. Soup curry isn't common in Seattle, so I respect the vision. The food was pretty good, but their spice levels didn't seem to match the ordering menu, indicating some kinks to work out. It felt a bit pricey for what it is, to be honest.

Promising Soup Curry, Needs Refinement
As a soup curry enthusiast who has waited eight years for a local shop, I was incredibly excited to try Curry Lab. My main expectations were an assortment of different veggies/toppings and a flavorful soup. Unfortunately, the topping options were limited, featuring a protein, eggplant, shishito pepper, broccoli, and large chunks of carrot and potato. The larger vegetable chunks seemed a bit undercooked, and I missed options like quail egg or lotus root. There's also no way to add extra vegetables. The soup base was just 'ok', a little mild and not as thick or hearty as I'd hoped, unlike the tomato base at SAMA. I might try the beef version next time. On both key aspects I look for, Curry Lab didn't quite deliver. Another issue was the paper bowl and plate, which caused the curry to get cold quickly. I'd gladly pay $30 for a luxurious, hot bowl with all the trimmings, but paying ~$23 for the basics in disposable ware isn't ideal. This place is new and still developing, so I hope this feedback helps. I'm rooting for them and will return soon to see if things have improved.
