Confusing Concept, Slow Service, Poor Food
Osteria Cotto e Mangiato, located just a block from my residence, has undergone several name changes over the past four years, shifting from Italian to Mexican and now back to Italian. Curiously, the brunch menu still heavily features Mexican dishes, creating a confusing concept. While the waiter was kind, the service was exceptionally slow, requiring significant patience. It took approximately 20 minutes for a single cappuccino and about 30 minutes for our food, a meatball sandwich and mole enchiladas. We later discovered from the waitress that our order had been forgotten, despite being the only customers at noon. The cappuccino itself was quite good, but unfortunately, everything else was disappointing. The meatballs seemed microwaved, with inconsistent temperatures. The mole enchiladas were unimpressive, tasting like a pre-made sauce on a chicken tortilla. The accompanying potatoes were undercooked, and the water had a strange, dusty aftertaste, suggesting a filter would be beneficial. Despite giving this location multiple chances with each rebranding, it consistently struggles with fresh food and reliable service. Each visit presents the same issues: microwaved or undercooked food and extremely slow service. Hopefully, future iterations of this establishment will improve the food and execution.

Amazing Christmas Dinner with Excellent Service
My experience at this restaurant for Christmas dinner was absolutely amazing. We were greeted instantly by our server, Diego, who was incredible throughout our entire meal. The holiday prefix menu did not disappoint, with the bruschetta and meatballs as appetizers being fabulous. For our main courses, we enjoyed the lobster and shrimp ravioli and the crab-stuffed salmon, both of which are highly recommended. We will definitely return on our next visit to the city.
