Service (3.3 out of 10)

mentioned by 61% of the guests

When it comes to service, this spot seems to have a few bright moments, with some customers appreciating the way they handle things, like suggesting alternatives when items are sold out. A few folks even noted the service was pretty darn quick! However, with a low score of 3.3 and customer satisfaction at a mere 16.7%, it's clear these positive experiences are unfortunately rare, based on 3 positive remarks out of 18 total.

On the flip side, the service here is definitely a mixed bag, leaning heavily towards needing improvement. Many customers faced issues with phone orders not being taken, long waiting times (one person waited 27 minutes!), and staff being too busy to take orders. There are also serious concerns about staff not adhering to health codes, using the same disposable gloves for food and money, and even reports of threatening behavior and trying to kick customers out before closing time, which are significant red flags.

Ambience (3.5 out of 10)

mentioned by 33% of the guests

Alright, lets talk about the vibe! While a couple of folks (2 out of 8 comments) did find the atmosphere okay for a casual hangout, suggesting its a place to come hangout and enjoy a drink, the overall picture isnt sparkling. With a score of just 3.5 and customer satisfaction sitting at a low 25%, its clear the ambience is currently in poor shape.

Unfortunately, the majority of the feedback, with 6 comments, points to significant issues. Guests encountered doors were locked and lights were off, creating an unwelcoming first impression. Inside, there were complaints about the smell of grease, a grimey feel needing a deep clean, and boxes everywhere making the place look cluttered, not to mention an odious man making some feel uncomfortable.

Nostalgic Student Days vs. Current Uncertainty
I used to frequent this place often when I was a student, and it was probably one of the best quick eats in the Bay Area food-wise. They offered a wide variety of drinks, with the menu displayed on the wall. However, a lot has changed since then, including new ownership, the introduction of kiosks, and altered hours. Nowadays, there are times they don't even open or just operate sporadically. I really miss the old days when I could just drop in, hang out, and enjoy a drink along with some delicious popcorn chicken. I hope they return to their normal operating hours like they used to.

Greasy Atmosphere, Quick Service
My experience at this restaurant was mixed, leaning towards a 3. 5-star rating. Upon entering, the smell of grease cooking in the back was quite noticeable, impacting the atmosphere. However, the service was impressively darn quick. I tried the mozzarella sticks as a snack, which were acceptable. Unfortunately, all the other fish bowl dishes were not appealing to my liking.

Surprisingly Good Deal for the Price
My experience was surprisingly good. I had the 'ramen' special, which was essentially bland noodle soup with fake pork, a hard-boiled egg, and a generous side of fried chicken bites. It was quite a deal for 4. 60 👍.

Disappointed by Missing Waffles
My experience was not so bad, but I was expecting the curry fishball to come with rice. Unfortunately, they didn't have the mochi waffle or the regular waffle. I'm confused as to why this location doesn't offer any of the waffle snacks.
