Inconsistent Food and Service Needs Improvement
My experience at this restaurant was disappointing. The friendliness of the service is something this establishment should address to attract more customers. Furthermore, the flavor of the food needs to be consistent and not change; they seem to have lost their culinary touch.

Small Tacos, Disappointing Flavor
I came to the restaurant with my friends, and we each ordered different dishes. My friends enjoyed their meals, but unfortunately, I ordered the beef tacos. When they arrived, the plate seemed larger than the tacos themselves. The tacos were very small, and for their size, I expected at least three per order, not just two. The flavor was also not that great 😔.

Authentic Honduran Flavors with a "Hit or Miss" Quality
El Paisa Restaurante, believed to be one of the oldest, serves authentic traditional Honduran dishes. While it offers a variety, the quality can be "hit and miss" 😉. Located in the Outer Mission and Bernal Heights neighborhood, near 30th Street, it's accessible by several Muni lines and LRVs. My favorite dish is the "catracho" breakfast, a typical Honduran meal including steak, refried beans, rice, fried eggs, fresh cheese, avocado, and sweet fried plantains, served with handmade tortillas (like "baleadas" but without cream etc.). I also ordered an horchata without ice, which was "maso menos" (so-so). It's a rich meal that leaves you feeling like resting, as they say in the hot lands: a good cigar after a downpour. 😂 I've heard other dishes like Pescado Yojoa, Pollo Catracho, and Sopa de Pescado con Coco are also good. I'll try them another time if I arrive late. The owner, "Don José, " is a very kind, respectful gentleman who works very hard, presumably 7 days a week without a break. ¡Un saludo a todos Catrachos! 🫡

Surprise Colombian Gem!
We were looking for Colombian food and stumbled upon this place. Initially, it seemed like it might be Honduran food, but the manager's invitation, "Give me the opportunity to serve you, and you won't regret it, " convinced us to stay. I'm so glad we did! My family and I were 10 out of 10 happy with our experience.

Disappointing Seafood Soup and Fried Chicken
Honestly, it was my first time going, and I was really looking forward to having a seafood soup in coconut. It was a total disaster; it seemed like they just dumped a can of coconut milk with the seafood and didn't even give it any flavor. Since I didn't like it, I ordered fried chicken breast, and they brought me a wing instead. To top it off, the chicken was completely overcooked and had no flavor at all. They told me it was a breast with a wing, but when you order a breast, you expect a breast, not another piece to complete the portion. I didn't say anything and didn't complain, but seriously, they need to change their cook, or they know nothing about Honduran food, or they simply don't cook well.
