Amazing Food, Excellent Service!
My experience at this restaurant was overwhelmingly positive. The good here is amazing and affordable. I particularly enjoyed the cucumber salad, which was delicious. We ordered a variety of dishes, including a beef "sandwich", cashew chicken, soup dumplings, and bao. Everything was really good. My only minor feedback is that I wish they had more ginger/flavor in the soup dumplings; I actually like the frozen ones at Trader Joe's better 🤷🏼‍♀️. The service was excellent and friendly, and the food was very delicious. I've already been back another time and added shumai and a sweet dumpling, both of which were so good! I must try this location.

Joyees: A Birthday Dumpling Delight!
For my birthday dinner, I decided to visit Joyees, and I absolutely loved every second of it. Upon arriving, I appreciated having the menu outside, allowing me to know exactly what I wanted before walking in. The restaurant was moderately busy, with only one server handling all the tables, but she did an excellent job managing even as it got busier. The food arrived with little wait. The pork potstickers were incredibly good, as were the beef and onion steamed dumplings. They offer chili oil, soy sauce, and balsamic vinegar for custom sauces, though I wished for more options as I try to avoid soy. My wife also really enjoyed her roasted duck. I've been thinking about this restaurant daily since my visit and plan to return.

Absolutely Delicious and Comfortable Experience!
This was the best meal I have ever gotten recently. I ordered the Mongolian beef with bun and lamb hot pot, and honestly, I was smiling with every bite. The place is also really comfortable, and the waitress (or manager) had a good attitude. I barely write comments on Google reviews, but this was really, really good. Absolutely will come back again. I am Chinese. Trust me ;)

Disappointing Dumplings and Uncomfortable Chairs
I came here hoping for the quick, tasty, and well-priced dumplings I love, but unfortunately, I experienced none of that. The soup dumplings were below average in taste and cost over $15 after tax and tip. The pork buns were disappointing, lacking filling, and the vegetables were bland, needing salt. While I understand the proximity to SDSU, I'd recommend going elsewhere, like Diamond Palace. On a personal note, the chairs are incredibly uncomfortable, especially for those on the wider side. The service was slow even when the restaurant was half empty, and the prices are comparable to Diamond Palace. The establishment needs to either lower the price of their steamed goods or improve the taste to justify the cost, and speed up the service. Waiting 30 minutes for soup dumplings is unacceptable. Please consider changing the chairs!

Tasty Wonton Soup with Room for Improvement
My experience at this restaurant was positive overall. The service here was great, and the ambience inside is simple and comfortable. I ordered the wonton soup, and while it's not your typical wonton soup – it's their own style – it was still tasty. It wasn't mind-blowing, but it was enjoyable. I would like to come back and try a few other things. It's nice to have variety with tasty food in the college area.
