Chubby Concept Delivers Premium Hot Pot
~~~Review from a non food influencer with nothing to gain~~~ I'd usually travel to OC/LA/Vegas . Finally a Chubby Concept here in my home town of San Diego! Gone are the days of "settling" at another low quality hot pot places and wishing we were eating at a chubby owned concept. As per usual with my visits to chubby. I always get the diamond tier. Chubby Club Plus membership. Recommended / worth it. Ambiance/decor is nice, esp the exterior. Interior is a bit tight, by who cares. Servers are elite. Nuff said. The hiring team clearly knows what they're doing. (This is consistent at chubby cattle bbq, chubby hot pot, wagyu factory hot pot, wagyu factory bbq, mikiya Shabu house, etc) PREMIUM: wagyu bone marrow / wagyu nigiri / bluefin hand roll with uni / amaebi / wagyu tartare. Is ayce. Premium stuff. A Y C E. Let that sink in. The quality of meats here really makes me sad for the other hot pot places in san diego. That I personally won't bother with anymore. Once you've had "the good stuff", the other places all seem like child's play. Esp a good laugh when the competition charges per plate of a5 wagyu. When I can get it ayce at mikiya. Needless to say. Highly Recommended. Bonus: try to ask for Khang. Elite tier server.
Amazing Shabu Experience, Parking is Tough
My experience at this restaurant was amazing! The quality meat was excellent, and it provided an authentic shabu experience. The service and food were both top-notch, receiving a perfect score. While the parking was tough, that's a common issue in the Convoy area.
Fresh Seafood and Kind Service
My experience at this restaurant was very positive, primarily due to the freshness of the seafood platter and the kindness of the server. Our waitress, AOAO, provided an excellent tour of the menu, carefully explaining what each tier of the all-you-can-eat option included. The establishment has been fully renovated from its previous life as a hot pot place. It's open until 10 pm, which makes it a convenient option for a potential return visit after my work shift.
