When it comes to service, it seems like a real mixed bag, leaning towards needing some serious attention. Based on 21 customer comments, with 5 positive and 16 negative, there are some bright spots. Guests appreciated the amazing waitress and the guy who rung us up for being friendly.

Closed Despite Stated Hours
I called earlier and was told the restaurant closes at sundown, which is 8 PM. Later, I walked the mile to the restaurant, arriving just before 7 PM. Although there was a sign taped indicating they close at 8 PM, the shutters were mostly closed. I could see people inside. After knocking and yelling a few times, I finally got a response that they are closed. I explained it was only 7 PM, but they reiterated that they are closed now. This was very disappointing and left me unhappy.

Disappointing Experience with Small Portions and High Prices
My experience at this restaurant was very poor. The prices were expensive, and the portions were quite small. Specifically, the calamari “banh mi” was served on an over-toasted mini hot dog bun. Adding an automatic gratuity for takeout service, especially when you have to pick up your food from the window, is completely ridiculous.

Salty Chowder, Insane Gratuity
My experience at the restaurant was disappointing. I ordered the clam chowder, which contained a good amount of fish, a positive aspect. However, the chowder was extremely salty, to the point of being almost inedible. Despite this, I consumed it because I had already paid $13, which included an automatic gratuity. While I don't mind tipping, I found the automatic gratuity on a to-go order to be unreasonable, especially since the service provided was minimal – just taking the order and handing over the food. Consequently, I will not be returning.

Ridiculous Service Charge and Tipping Expectations
My experience was marked by a ridiculous 20% service charge added to an already over-priced item handed over the counter. This is not service; it's a basic business function. To then expect a tip on top of that feels like an excuse to trick customers into paying much more than planned. I strongly advise against supporting this behavior, as there are better options nearby that genuinely provide service and allow for appropriate reward.
