Terrible Eggplant Dish, Never Returning
My experience at this restaurant was absolutely the worst. I ordered the eggplant coconut cream dish for lunch, which cost $30 after tax and tip. Unfortunately, it gave me the worst headache, and I couldn't even finish it. I suspect they use jar-pickled eggplant due to the presence of sulfites. I would not recommend this dish for vegetarians or vegans, and I will never be coming back.

Disappointing Anniversary Dinner at Prubechu
I rarely feel this way about a restaurant, but this was by far one of the worst dining experiences I have had. Prubechu was at the top of my list to try while visiting SF, and I was very excited for our anniversary dinner. Unfortunately, that excitement was met with the biggest disappointment. We opted for the "fiesta table" tasting menu at $96 per person, which promised the "chef brings out the best of the food" in 10 courses. The regular menu items seemed unreasonably expensive, with examples like $25 for 5 chicken wings and $32 for a potato dish. The first course, a creamy potato soup, was very mediocre, raising concerns about our decision. The "Caesar salad" was unrecognizable, featuring large chunks of tomatoes, frisée, corn, and a creamy dressing, and it lacked flavor. The cheesy focaccia with crispy edges was the best item, but its Guamanian origin was questionable. A single shrimp tostada followed, which was basic and bland. We asked for hot sauce, and were given a tiny condiment cup, with a warning about its spiciness. Two tacos with cold meat and grated coconut were also uninspired and cold. The entrees, short rib and chicken wings, were disappointing; the short rib was tough, and the chicken wings were overhyped. We were shocked by the quality for the price. Dessert was a scoop of vanilla ice cream with nut crumble, which felt lazy and disrespectful given the cost. To add insult to injury, we were charged $4 for the tiny condiment cup of hot sauce. We felt scammed. We go out often and don't mind spending on nice meals, but this was a waste of money. We received only 9 of the 10 courses, portions were small, value was poor, and the food was simply not good. The only positive was the service; the guys who served us were nice.

Tasty BBQ with a Relaxed Vibe
My experience at Prubechu was largely positive! The BBQ pork ribs and chicken kelaguen were delicious, and the Ko’Ko’ wings are a definite must-try. The backyard vibe offered a fun and relaxed atmosphere. While some dishes were just okay and the service was a bit slow, overall, it's a great spot for bold, flavorful food.

Rude Service, Undercooked Food, Unclean Kitchen
My experience at this restaurant was quite negative. The owner was extremely rude and dismissive when I asked a question, which made the entire place feel uncomfortable. Furthermore, my food came out undercooked, and the kitchen's appearance raised serious concerns about food safety as it didn’t look clean. I definitely won’t be back.

Amazing Experience with Great Food and Service!
What an amazing experience! We accidentally made a reservation for the wrong night, but the staff were incredibly accommodating and managed to squeeze us in. Every person we interacted with was so kind, and our waiter provided excellent recommendations. The food was equally impressive. The brisket was incredibly tender, the side dish with cassava was insanely good, and the tinaktak was another winner. Highly recommend this place!
