The Food (7.4) is a particular highlight, frequently praised for its quality and generous portions, while the Ambience (7.9) also receives good marks for its comfortable and recently updated setting. The Service (7.0) is also considered good, often described as fast and friendly, contributing positively to the dining experience.

Disappointing Experience with Rice and Service
I've been a loyal customer of this restaurant since it opened, and Karen and I were pregnant at the same time. She knows me as Alex. Today marked my first bad experience. Yesterday, I ordered barbecue pork fried rice with no peas and carrots. I ate half of it outside my car and refrigerated the rest for lunch the next day. Today, after microwaving it for a minute and adding soy sauce, I noticed a foul odor, as if the rice had expired. I called the restaurant, and Karen's son's wife took the call. She advised me to bring it in for a replacement. Upon arrival, Karen's son, who was at the counter, spoke with his wife and then agreed to remake the rice. I mentioned that he could smell it himself, as it shouldn't have expired overnight, especially since I refrigerated it immediately. He then asked if I had put soy sauce on it, which I did after heating it, thinking I was going to eat it. He became upset and insisted on giving me my money back, refusing to remake the rice, despite the earlier phone confirmation. I expressed my disappointment, stating I didn't want money back but a replacement. I told him I would speak to Karen about his inappropriate and hostile behavior, especially considering my long-standing patronage and significant spending. I believe the rice was not fresh to begin with if it spoiled overnight in the refrigerator. I've cooked rice myself and stored leftovers, and they remained good the next day. I've also had no issues with previous rice from Pek Wok's Chinese food. I only add soy sauce to the portion I'm about to eat. People across the street who eat there often shared similar complaints about the service since Karen and her husband haven't been working there. While I love Karen's food and restaurant, her son's customer service was unprofessional. I traveled from Treasure Island for a replacement rice, only to be given money back and have to go elsewhere. I spend nearly $200 on family nights, and I feel my loyalty is not valued. Karen would never have treated me this way. It seems the younger generation runs the family business as they please. 👀

Shrimp Size and Bok Choy Issues
My experience at the restaurant involved a few key points regarding the food. I requested larger shrimp, as the ones served were small, more like cocktail shrimp. Additionally, I did not receive the Chinese broccoli in the container with the mushrooms as expected; instead, I received more bok choy. The mushrooms and bok choy were described as 'nasty. ' However, the shrimp and scallops served with the bok choy and onions were good. My main feedback is to offer bigger shrimp.
