Ambience (3 out of 10)

mentioned by 42% of the guests

When it comes to ambience, this spot seems to have a bit of a split personality, though the overall vibe leans heavily towards the negative. While a couple of comments (2 out of 11 total remarks) did hint at a potential for a date-night dinner and enjoying a beautiful ambience, the general sentiment is quite different. Unfortunately, the negatives really stand out, with 8 remarks focusing on issues like the street and location being scary or sketchy, and the place being impossible to find. There's also a notable absence of any decorum and even an unpleasant fried chicken smell in the area. It seems the external environment and lack of interior charm are major deterrents for many.

Delicious Lasagna, Worth a Return Visit
My experience was at a restaurant located inside a convenience store. Ordering was easy, either on an iPad provided or by ordering online beforehand. The service was quick. I tried the lasagna, and it was sooooo good and cheesy. I definitely plan to return. I did return two days later and tried the Mexican lasagna, which was also really good. However, the original truffle lasagna remains my #1 favorite.

Disappointing Experience, Overpriced Food
My experience at this restaurant was quite disappointing. It was difficult to find the place as the menu was only visible inside, despite the advertising outside. The biggest issues were the microwaved takeout box and the lack of any decor. I paid $20 for a small serving, which felt like a rip-off. While the Bolognese lasagna did have impossible meat, enough cheese, and sauce to taste as expected, it was ruined by being microwaved, resulting in a pathetic top. I will never return.

Scam Alert: Avoid This Place
As many other reviews note, this place is located within a fast food fried chicken/convenience store. There’s no sign promoting it as a vegan lasagna restaurant. They literally pulled the lasagna out of the freezer and microwaved it in front of me. The location of this place is also on one of the sketchiest streets in SF I’ve had to walk down. Do not waste your time or money on this scam.

Microwaved Lasagna at a Chicken Place
My experience was quite unusual. I ordered lasagna from a kiosk within a chicken place. The lasagna itself tasted like it had been microwaved.

Confusing Vegan to Fried Chicken Experience
We were so happy to see a new vegan place, but after running the gauntlet of the sketchy blocks, we found a fried chicken place. There was no sign of anything vegan. We initially thought it was some sort of trick, designed to make vegan people go through the most questionable areas only to end up at a fried chicken joint. However, apparently, it's actually inside. We didn't stay around long enough to figure that out. Perhaps the food is really good, but the area is terrible, and I would never be able to handle the fried chicken smell.
