Q. What is a steamer/dehydrator? I saw one for sale at a thrift store and have not been able to find out anything about what it is used for. How are the results different from a regular dehydrator?A. We have no idea. Sounds like Dr. Dolittle’s Pushmi-Pullyu. A steamer cooks things with water while a dehydrator takes the water out of foods to preserve them. If some marketing genius came up with a device that does both, we haven’t heard of it. Perhaps one of our responsive readers know?
